THE WRONG TRAIN By Jeremy de Quidt

Wow. Every page I turned dug me deeper into the realm of the old man and his little dog. The horror short stories spilling out of him made the old man a suspicious and strange character - almost portraying the stereotype of 'stranger danger'. Being alone, the boy had no choice but to listen to every aggravating tale, getting more scared each minute. After reading each short narration, the powerful language used supported my imaginations and questions - what if it was true? Each horror story was galloping through my brain, but as I reached the end, there was nothing that could prepare me for the outcome. I don't want to spoil it for you if you haven't read it, but if you have, let me know what you thought about the ending! Throughout the book, I was frustrated at each unaware character, that slowly ended up in trouble after each of the horror events, but I was also pulled in further whenever each new fable appeared. The most devastating factor was how each innocent person got wound up, unwillingly, in each tale. The marvellous descriptions grabbed me into each world as the pages kept turning. This eerie book is a must-read for any fans of an enticing yet chilling horror story. I rate this book FOUR AND A HALF STARS!
